MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is aiming to generate over P2 million revenues from its first participation at the US trade show featuring contemporary lifestyle fashion brands for women.

Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) said in a statement the Philippine delegation targets to achieve P2.53 million revenues, as well as $790,000 in export sales and around 240 buyer inquiries from the Project Womens show.

Project Womens show forms part of the Men’s Apparel Guild in California (MAGIC) event being held from Aug. 12 to 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

MAGIC trade fair is considered as the most comprehensive fashion marketplace in the US.

CITEM, the export promotions arm of the Department of Trade and Industry, is organizing the country’s participation at the event, along with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Los Angeles and in San Francisco.

For the Philippines’ participation, CITEM executive director Pauline Suaco-Juan said there will be eight brands showcasing their products.

“We have eight brands and they all use a diverse range of materials in their pieces. They employ weavers, carvers and artisans and these people show exceptional craftsmanship in their products,” she said.

Participating Philippine brands are Calli, Lara, Vesti and Virtucio, which make handbags; Agsam Fashion Fern, Beatriz Accessories and Ken Samudio, which make accessories; and Maco Custodio, which makes shoes.
