Swiss challenge on for P12-billion resort project in New Clark
MANILA, Philippines — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has started the Swiss challenge for Widus Philippines Inc.’s proposed P12-billion luxury mountain resort development in New Clark City by seeking offers from private firms.
“The BCDA invites all interested private sector proponents or participants to participate in a competitive challenge for the long-term lease of a 450-hectare parcel of the New Clark City for a proposed luxury mountain resort development,” the state-run firm said in a notice published Thursday.
Widus Philippines’ unsolicited proposal involves building a five-star hotel managed by an international brand, an 18-hole championship golf course and one clubhouse for the first phase of development.
Under a Swiss challenge, private groups can provide competing offers for the unsolicited proposal, but the original proponent would have the right to submit a counter-proposal.
Firms interested to take part in the Swiss challenge can purchase the terms of reference (TOR) at the BCDA Clark Office for a non-refundable fee of P300,000.
The TOR will also be available at the BCDA’s website www.bcda.gov.ph/bids.
BCDA will hold a pre-bid conference for the Swiss challenge on July 11, at its extension office.
Eligibility documents and financial proposals for the Swiss challenge should be submitted by Aug. 8, at the BCDA Clark office.
Covering 9,450 hectares, New Clark City in Tarlac is being positioned as the country’s first smart, green and resilient metropolis.
Development for the first phase of New Clark City is ongoing.
