PLDT Global expands partnership with Tranglo

MANILA, Philippines — PLDT Global Corp., a subsidiary of telecommunications and digital services provider PLDT, is expanding its partnership with international airtime remittance hub Tranglo.

Aside from Smart, TNT, and Sun products, Filipinos overseas may now avail of Free Bee PINs in Tranglo channels and service centers in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and other Southeast Asian countries under the new partnership.

Free Bee is an advertising-based voice service that delivers high-quality IDD calls to the Philippines for free.

“This partnership with Tranglo through Free Bee helps us achieve our goal to empower global Filipinos with innovative products and services which would enable them to communicate without borders,” PLDT Global chief commercial officer Albert Villa-Real said.

The agreement is the latest in a series of partnerships forged by PLDT Global to serve more Filipinos all over the world.

“We are very excited to collaborate with PLDT Global on its new product. Free Bee, on the back of Tranglo’s technology and expertise, can offer more affordable call options for Filipinos living and working abroad,” Tranglo founder Sia Hui Yong said.

Tranglo is a secure technology platform that enables payment service providers and businesses to perform cross-border payouts, prepaid reloads, and digital conveniences.

Since 2011, Tranglo has been an active partner of PLDT Global. In 2013, the Malaysia-based remittance company also teamed up with Smart to boost aid for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.  

Free Bee is a product of PLDT Global which provides innovative telecommunications solutions and other relevant consumer services to Filipinos overseas and other ethnic markets.

The mobile application enables overseas Filipinos to make free, ad-sponsored long distance calls to any PLDT, Smart, TNT and Sun subscribers in the Philippines.
