The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Bistro Group, the leading casual dining chain in the country, shifts its expansion program into high gear with a series of store openings nationwide aimed at tapping a wider market.

The company recently launched its 26th TGIFridays  branch at the Island Central Mall, the newest lifestyle hub in Mactan, Cebu.

Also opened recently at the Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Pinas are Italianni’s and Red Lobster, while Modern Shanghai and  Texas Roadhouse will follow suit in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, another Texas Roadhouse branch opened at Robinsons Midtown last May 23.

The newly developed Ayala North Exchange at the heart of Makati’s commercial business district will soon host Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant and Italianni’s, opening its doors to discerning food lovers.

“We believe that there is strength in numbers, along with a brand equity that’s  attached to these brands. There is a huge market waiting to be tapped in many places in the country that inspires us to embark on an aggressive expansion to bring our concepts closer to more and more Filipinos who love good food and Bistro’s quality service,” Lisa Ronquillo, VP for marketing of The Bistro Group, said.

Over the years, the company has successfully managed a diverse portfolio of  13 local and international restaurant concepts including Italiannis, Village Tavern, Denny’s, Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Lobster, and recently, Hard Rock Café Manila. Also under its portfolio are Asian concepts Fish & Co., Watami, Baker & Cook, Modern Shanghai and Bulgogi Brothers.

By year-end, it is expected that The Bistro Group will have a total of  90 stores  nationwide.
