Legend Hotels in Palawan eyes 18% higher occupancy

MANILA, Philippines — Local hotel chain Legend Hotels International Corp.(LHIC) is targeting an 18 percent increase in occupancy rates in its The Legend Palawan (TLP) hotel in Puerto Princesa as it unveils a new set of tour packages.

The company announced yesterday it launched tour packages dubbed as Roam Puerto Princesa to commemorate the hotel’s 20th anniversary.

Among the tours packages are the Isla Pandan tour, Beach Cove tour, Legend city tour and the Puerto Princesa Underground River tour.

TLP is expecting its average occupancy rate to climb to 60 percent from the current 42 percent with the introduction of the new tour packages.

“It’s that not that big of a jump, but we’re expecting that traction as we market our new products,” LHIC chief operating officer Celine Marie King said.

Apart from the new tour packages, King said the company continues to renovate TLP’s facilities starting with its rooms last year.

“This year we are also renovating the facade and also the common areas. But we started with the rooms because we felt that would give the convenience immediately to the guests,” King said.

At present, TLP offers a total of 91 rooms.

King said there is still room to add about 20 to 30 rooms, if market demand increases.

LHIC chairman Wyden King said he is still targeting to further enhance and innovate experience offered to guests.

“My dream, moving forward, is to create an unforgettable experience in the island of Puerto Princesa where guests can enjoy the beach, the mountain and the river – all of these they can to in comfort,” he added.

LHIC is a 100 percent Filipino owned and managed chain of hotels. Its portfolio of hotels targets various markets such as company executives, families, OFWs, balikbayans, provincial business travelers, local and foreign tourists.
