DBP inks partnership with Gen Trias in Cavite
MANILA, Philippines — State-run Development Bank of the Philippines recently forged a partnership with the local government of General Trias, Cavite to undertake several projects that will boost efficiency and productivity in the city.
In a statement, DBP president and chief executive officer Cecilia Borromeo said the bank would assist the local government in automating its human resource and payroll processing.
She said DBP would also help boost tax collections in the city though its point-of-sale (POS) and internet payment gateway (IPG) facilities.
“With the POS facility, residents and business owners in General Trias City can now pay their real property taxes using debt, credit and prepaid cards, while the IPG would facilitate online acceptance of payments of the taxpayers’ real property and business dues,” Borromeo said.
Borromeo said DBP would also install two additional ATMs in the city to serve the local government’s employees and its residents.
The partnership will also allow the city government to broaden tax payment options for its residents, while increasing collection efficiency and generating savings through streamlined payment collection, and reduced operational expenses.
General Trias City Mayor Antonio Ferrer, for his part, said the joint initiative with DBP would help the city government increase its tax collections, while enhancing service delivery to its constituents.
