MANILA, Philippines — Broadcasting giants ABS-CBN Corp. and GMA Network claimed their respective nationwide ratings dominance anew in October.

Using data from Kantar Media, ABS-CBN said it logged an average audience share of 44 percent in October over GMA’s 31 percent.

Meanwhile, GMA said it posted an average total day people audience share of 41.1 percent last month versus ABS-CBN’s 37.2 percent, based on data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

ABS-CBN said it increased its lead in Metro Manila, where it scored an average audience share of 42 percent, while also winning Mega Manila households with 36 percent share.

In other territories such as Total Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, ABS-CBN said it lorded over its rival network with an average audience share of 39 percent, 53 percent, and 53 percent, respectively.

“Out of the 10 highest-rating programs in October, nine were produced by ABS-CBN,” the network said.

On the other hand, GMA said it dominated the viewer-rich areas of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila, posting an average total day people audience share of 46.9 percent and 49.1 percent, respectively.

“Kapuso programs also took the lion’s share in the list of top programs in both Urban Luzon and Mega Manila, respectively taking 22 and 24 spots out of the top 30,” it said.
