The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices will host a pioneering program titled, “Best Practices Guide on How to Import Goods to the Philippines” on Aug. 9 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

The seminar will provide participants a comprehensive step-by-step guide on the whole importation process in the Philippines – from applying for an import license to ensuring the safety and security of the delivery and arrival of your goods. The lecture will also arm participants with the right knowledge and fresh insights to save millions in costs, time, effort, and even preventable mistakes committed by most importers.

The program will feature Maria Lydia Ledonio, who is the author of the book, The Basic Guidelines on Importing into the Philippines: A Handbook for Commercial Importers. With over 25 years of experience in the importing business, she has helped hundreds of importers to safely bring in various products from all over the world into the Philippine market – whether it is for trading or for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Currently, she is the president of Columbia Transport Inc. (Coltrans) and managing partner of Coltrans Exhibits Inc. She obtained her master’s degree on Entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management and her bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Santo Tomas. She also founded Dee’s Gourmet Popcorn and many other businesses.
