Phoenix Petroleum expands Cebu Pacific service offering

Danessa Rivera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. deepens its decade-long partnership with budget carrier Cebu Pacific by providing into-plane services and expanding its fuel storage and bridging services to two domestic airports.

In a statement, Phoenix Petroleum said it recently bagged the contract with Cebu Pacific to provide into-plane services in Bacolod, Dumaguete and soon in Mactan airports.

The oil firm has also started servicing Cebu Pacific in Roxas Airport in Capiz and in San Jose airport in Occidental Mindoro – the first airport it is serving in Luzon.

The two new additional airports increase Phoenix Petroleum’s total number of domestic airports served to 17 – one in Luzon, eight in Visayas, and eight in Mindanao.

“We look forward to serving Cebu Pacific in more destinations as we aspire to be the Filipinos’ indispensable partner in their journeys,” Phoenix Petroleum COO Henry Albert Fadullon said.

Phoenix Petroleum has been the exclusive logistics provider of Cebu Pacific in Mindanao, providing hauling and into-plane services since 2005 when the oil company was just starting in Davao City.

Last January, the two companies renewed their supply agreement for jet fuel through Phoenix’s subsidiary, Subic Petroleum Trading & Transport Phils Inc.

Phoenix Petroleum is among the country’s top three providers of fuel to a wide range of commercial and industrial businesses in power, marine, manufacturing, transportation, aviation and other industries.

Cebu Pacific is one of its major commercial accounts where it supplies majority of the budget airline’s requirements. It also provides the fuel requirements of Philippine Airlines outside Manila.

It recently added Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), the country’s largest power distributor, in its list of commercial clients, supplying fuel to the 11 fuel stations of Meralco.

Apart from hauling and into-plane services, Phoenix Petroleum is also engaged in the trading and marketing of refined oil products, including liquefied petroleum gas and lubricants; operation of depots and storage facilities, and trading and supply.

Phoenix continues to expand to more businesses: convenience store retailing through Philippine FamilyMart, and asphalt manufacturing, marketing, and distribution through Phoenix Asphalt Philippines Inc.

It also recently signed an MOU with China National Offshore Oil Corp. Gas and Power Group Co. Ltd. for a potential liquefied natural gas project.
