MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ first public-private sector platform for companies launched a new mobile application that would allow local startups to connect with other entrepreneurs, as well as potential investors and partners outside the country’s capital.

At an event in Makati on Thursday, QBO Innovation Hub unveiled the QBO app, which could also be a platform for budding businesses to engage in startup-related discussions.

“This is an exciting time for us, and indeed for the local startup community as a whole,” said Katrina Chan, QBO Innovation Hub Director.

“With our app, never has it been easier for our entrepreneurs to access the essential services and resources that will help them take their companies to the next level,” she added.

“Our goal is to help provide opportunities and mentorship for our budding startups, especially those driven by young, tech-savvy entrepreneurs,” DOST Undersecretary Rowena Cristina Guevarra said. — Ian Nicolas Cigaral
