Philippine delegates bag awards in Thai expo

Philippine delegates of the Manila Young Inventors Association took home four gold medals, three silvers, and 10 bronze medals in the recently concluded 2018 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition held on Thailand Inventors’ Day from Feb. 1 to 7, 2018 at Bitec, Bangkok, Thailand. Schools represented included Doña Teodora High School, Philippine Science High School, Ramon Magsaysay High School, Torres High School, Tondo High School, Esteban Abada High School, and Padre Gomez Elementary School. Doña Teodora Alonzo High School representatives Mayet dela Cruz, Mark Gil Tabor, and Joyce Concepcion Marie Estabillo were among the gold medal awardees. Their research project on ‘Recycled Ultrasonic Range Finder Assistive Device for Visually Impaired People’ also won a special award of excellence given by the Lebanese Inventors Society.
