PAL resumes daily Manila-Kuala Lumpur service

MANILA, Philippines - Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) resumed yesterday its daily service from Manila to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, following a three-year respite.

Speaking at the ceremony for the resumption of the service held yesterday, Ismael Gozon, PAL senior vice president for operations said the resumption of the service is in line with the carrier’s fleet modernization and expansion.

PAL president and chief operating officer Jaime Bautista said in a statement the resumption of the service is also in response to the clamor for a direct service between the two capital cities.

“The resumption of PAL flights between Manila and Kuala Lumpur will help foster economic and cultural ties between the Philippines and Malaysia,” he said.

“Through PAL flights and code-share partners, we can carry passenger traffic from Kuala Lumpur to China, Japan, South Pacific and North America and thus enhance our Asean network,” he said.

“As the airport operator, we are always committed towards building a strong relationship with our partner airlines to support its growth, not only in Malaysia but globally. Our mission here at Malaysia Airports is to create joyful experiences for all our stakeholders. Therefore, we will ensure that PAL operations will receive Malaysia Airports’ fullest support for any airport facilities and services needed at the terminal,” Malaysia Airports senior general manager Zainol Mohd Isa said.

Prior to the resumption of the service, PAL last flew to Malaysia in 2014.

PAL first flew to Malaysia in 1977.

For the service, passengers who wish to fly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday can choose flight PR 525 which will depart Manila at 7:25 a.m. and arrive in Kuala Lumpur on the same day at 11 a.m.
