Cebu Pacific passengers drop in 2 months

MANILA, Philippines - Passenger volume of Cebu Pacific and subsidiary Cebgo went down slightly in the first two months from a year ago.

Operating statistics of Cebu Pacific and Cebgo showed the group carried a total of 3.17 million passengers in the first two months, down slightly from the 3.19 million in the same period last year.

The group’s capacity went up 2.7 percent to 3.76 million as of end-February, from 3.66 million last year.

Seat load factor, meanwhile, declined to 84.4 percent from January to February compared with the previous year’s 87.2 percent.

The group’s total number of flights rose slightly to 21,975 in the first two months from 21,872 a year ago.

For February alone, the group carried 1.45 million passengers this year, 6.3 percent lower than the 1.55 million in the same month last year. 

Capacity fell slightly to 1.74 million in February from the previous year’s 1.76 million. 

The group’s seat load factor also decreased to 83.6 percent in February from 88 percent a year ago. 

Cebu Pacific and Cebgo operated 10,237 flights in February, 2.8 percent lower than the 10,535 in the same month in 2016.

Last year, Cebu Pacific and Cebgo served a total of 19.13 million passengers, four percent higher than the 18.38 million passengers in 2015.

At present, the group has flights to 37 domestic and 29 international destinations across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and the US.
