AirAsia offering direct flights to Taipei
MANILA, Philippines – Philippines AirAsia is set to operate direct flights from Manila and Cebu to Taipei in Taiwan beginning next month.
In a statement yesterday, Philippines AirAsia said the daily Manila to Taipei service would commence on Nov. 21 while the Cebu to Taipei service, available three times per week, would be offered beginning Nov. 25.
The announcement comes as Taiwan has eased visa rules for travellers from the Philippines as well as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and India starting Sept. 1.
Prior to the adjustment, Brunei, Malaysa, Singapore and Thailand were only the ASEAN member states that enjoy visa-free entry to Taiwan.
“In anticipation of the influx of tourists and travellers to Taipei following the recent easing of visa rules for Filipinos, we are thrilled to announce that AirAsia is launching direct flights to Taipei from our hubs in Manila and Cebu this November with promo fares now available online and through our partner travel agents nationwide,” Philippines AirAsia CEO Dexter Comendador said.
Until Oct. 16, Philippines AirAsia is offering promotional fares for as low as P888 for the Cebu to Taipei route for the travel period Nov.25, this year until March 25 next year, and P1,488 for the Manila to Taipei flight for travel dates Nov. 21 this year to March 25 next year.
