Crown Asia venturing into waterworks
MANILA, Philippines – Crown Asia Chemicals Corp., a manufacturer of world-class PVC compounds and pipes, is entering the waterworks industry.
In a statement, Crown Asia said the Crown Pressure Main Pipes would be used to connect supply lines from municipal water sources to barangays and subdivisions, providing safe and potable water to households.
At present, these pipes are utilized for high-pressure waterworks, irrigation and infrastructure.
For instance, in buildings, such pipes are used as conduit by which water source from government passes into the buildings reservoir or pipelines. These have been installed to link service connectivities to about 14 barangays in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Aurora Province.
However, Derrick Villanueva, general manager of the pipes division, said the company continues to expand its pipes to address other market segments such as the waterworks utilities.
“We continue to extend our range of PVC pipes to cater to new market segments such as waterworks and potable water suppliers. This is part of our diversification thrust to seize opportunities in the growing water-related infrastructure projects,” Villanueva said.
Crown Asia has also expanded its presence in government projects through the supply deals for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway phases I and II and National Housing Authority (NHA) projects.
The company recently declared cash dividends of P0.05 per share.
