Cebu Pacific increases Doha flights

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific is adding more flights between Manila and Doha, Qatar beginning July 9, to cater to Filipinos in the Gulf country.

The budget carrier said the additional flight between Manila and Doha will operate every Saturday, and bring its flight services to three times a week.

The additional flight which will utilize the Airbus A330 aircraft with a configuration of 436 all-economy class seats, will depart Manila at 2:45 p.m., and arrive in Doha at 7:15 p.m., while the return flight will leave Doha at 8:55 p.m., and be in Manila at 11:25 a.m. the next day.

At present, Cebu Pacific has flights on the Manila to Doha route every Monday and Thursday, and Doha to Manila flights every Tuesday and Friday.

“Cebu Pacific remains committed to bringing the Philippines closer to the growing Filipino community based in Qatar. We hope that with our additional frequency and lowest year-round fares, they will be encouraged to fly back home and reunite with their families and friends more often. Travelers from Qatar who wish to visit the Philippines’ many exquisite island destinations may also take advantage of Cebu Pacific’s convenient, same terminal connection via Manila,” Alex Reyes, general manager for long haul division at Cebu Pacific said.

Reyes said the additional frequency is also intended to encourage more Filipinos to visit Doha which serves as a gateway to the Gulf countries in the Middle East.

“Travelers from the Philippines may book more affordable, direct flights to Doha via Cebu Pacific, to explore the country’s metropolitan museums, visit its sprawling architectural wonders, and take part in its rich Islamic culture,” Reyes said.

Qatar has the third-largest Filipino community in the Middle East.

Apart from Qatar, Cebu Pacific also has flight services to other destinations in the Middle East such as Dubai in United Arab Emirates, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

Cebu Pacific serves more than 90 routes on 64 destinations and has a fleet composed of 57 aircraft.
