MANILA, Philippines – Manila Water subsidiary Laguna Water Corp. is alloting P1.4 billion this year for service expansion and to grow its customer base in the province.

In a statement, Laguna Water said the bulk of its 2016 budget would be allocated to water source development, water network expansion, and improvement and rehabilitation projects.

“Laguna Water continuously improves its services and seeks for new opportunities to fulfill its commitment to provide Laguna access to sustainable, safe and clean water,” it said.

Furthermore, it has started the construction of the P1.6 billion Laguna Well Field project that would provide as much as 100 million liters of water per day mid-2015.

The laying and installation of 13 network expansion lines are also being implemented to support the distribution of water to the expected 24,000 new service connections by the end of the year.

Last year, Laguna Water’s concession agreement was amended allowing the company to extend its water and used water services to the entire province from the original concession areas covering the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao and Sta. Rosa.

Laguna Water provides over 100,000 service connections in Laguna including residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

It is a public-private partnership between the government of Laguna and the Manila Water Philippine ventures, a subsidiary of Manila Water.
