Cebu Pac flies to Fukuoka

MANILA, Philippines - Low cost carrier Cebu Air Inc. (Cebu Pacific) launched  yesterday its inaugural flight to Fukuoka , Japan in line with its expansion plan.

Cebu Pacific said the maiden flight to Fukuoka marks the beginning of the airline’s thrice weekly service to its fourth destination in Japan.

Aside from Fukuoka, Cebu Pacific currently has direct flights to Osaka, Tokyo (Narita) and Nagoya from Manila, and Tokyo (Narita) from Cebu.

Japan is among Cebu Pacific’s most popular destinations from the Philippines.

Latest data from the Japan National Tourism Organization showed Filipino tourist arrivals in Japan reached more than 211,000 in the First 10 months, 44 percent higher than a year ago.

For the January to September period, Japan was the third biggest source of foreign tourist arrivals to the Philippines.

Following the launch of the new Manila – Fukuoka route, more travellers from the Philippines are expected to enjoy low fares offered to Japan.

Through Cebu Pacific’s current promo fare, travellers can fly to Fukuoka from Manila for as low as P6,778 all-in, 51 percent lower compared to other airlines.

The Manila-Fukuoka service is available every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with the flight departing Manila at 2:15 p.m. and arriving in Fukuoka at 6:55 p.m.

The return flight meanwhile, will leave Fukuoka at 8:00 p.m. and get to Manila at 10:40 p.m.

The flights on the Manila-Fukuoka route will utilize Cebu Pacific’s brand-new Airbus A320 fleet which has 180 all-economy class seats.
