Araneta Center redevelopment on track

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Araneta Group, one of the pioneers in entertainment and leisure development in the country, said the long-term redevelopment plan for Araneta Center is on schedule as it continues to unveil new components to its flagship project.

Araneta Group management consultant  Rowell Recinto said the redevelopment in Quezon City is proceeding according to plan.

With a total size of 35 hectares, the Araneta Center is envisioned to become a garden city with modern amenities.

“The year 2015 is definitely a banner year for Araneta Center. We are proud of our momentous improvements such as the reopening of the Kia Theatre which we hope will reclaim its title as the country’s premier performing arts venue,” Recinto said.

The Kia Theatre was redeveloped into a modern theater with 2,500 seating capacity and al fresco dining establishments.

Aside from the Araneta Center’s major improvements this year, the company said there are still more grand developments to be unveiled in the coming years.

The Araneta Group said Araneta Center would soon be home to Quezon City’s first international business and leisure hotel through Novotel Manila.

“We are ecstatic to be serving our local and foreign friends here in Quezon City. With Novotel’s superb offerings, we will bring them the hospitality that Filipinos are famously known for,” said Bernd Schneider, Novotel Manila general manager.

Other upcoming developments in Araneta Center include the remaining seven towers of the 18-tower Manhattan Garden City, business process outsourcing complex CyberPark Towers, Gateway Mall 2, and a 60-storey Civic Plaza.

The Araneta Group has allocated P30 billion for Araneta Center’s 20-year redevelopment which started in 2002.
