Call centers' revenues to grow 19 pct in 2014
MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Call centers across the country today projected their revenues to grow by as much as 19 percent year on year in 2014 due to demand for voice service in new markets.
The Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), the biggest group of call centers in the country, said the expansion of existing companies and the entry of new players as well as the depreciation of the Philippine currency will boost the industry this year.
"Contrary to common notions, the industry has not slowed down. We believe we remain on track in achieving higher growth this year, " CCAP President Benedict Hernandez told reporters.
Hernandez said the United States remains as the biggest customer of Philippine call centers but he expected companies in Australia and the United Kingdom to start outsourcing their voice service requirements to local call centers in 2014.
The CCAP did not divulge the earnings of Philippine call centers last year. In 2012, the local call center industry earned $8.7 billion.
