Providing Filipinos with rewarding experiences they deserve
MANILA, Philippines — Coined after its iconic mobile prefix, 917 Day is Globe’s biggest yearly fanfare that especially recognizes the loyalty of its customers throughout the years.
For this year’s celebration, Globe opened the doors to its very own virtual amusement park GIFLand via Facebook Live. Launched with it is a series of sweet gifts, deals and #SariSaringRewardingExperiences to fulfill 85 million Globe subscribers nationwide.
“Every year, we make this celebration meaningful for our customers, but as the local situation progresses, we want to extend the rewards to our communities, as well. By providing unique experiences for our customers, we can help uplift their lives and the wider community we live in,” Bianca Wong, head of Feel Valued Tribe for Globe, said.
One of these rewarding experiences was the unveiling of its new GlobeOne Super App, an all-in-one app that combines the functionalities of all its current apps, including GlobeOne, Globe Rewards and Globe at Home.
With its streamlined functions, GlobeOne Super App is poised to be the central Globe app where features can be accessed all in one go.
When it comes to providing aid to those who need it, Globe is definitely no stranger, having raised upwards of almost P40 million in cash and Globe Rewards points donations alone, for the benefit of frontliners, healthcare institutions as well as underprivileged communities, especially during pandemic.
For this year’s month-long celebration, Globe allowed not only enjoyment for its customers but also opportunities to share blessings to its partner organizations.
Some of the awesome events that highlighted this goal include Globe’s G Legends Cup held last September 22. This G Legends cup is an amateur mobile gaming tournament where players battled it out to win big prizes that they shareed with a charity or organization of their choosing.
There was also the G Music Fest held last September 25 and 26, especially set up for music lovers who gave back to partner organizations with simply their attendance.
Also held was GLife’s very first G Super Sale last September 15 to 19, where it partnered with Lazada with the launch of an exclusive marketplace. For this sale, a portion of the proceeds went to partner beneficiaries.
Globe’s GB to Points Promo allowed customers to convert unused data into Globe Rewards points all year round (1 GB of unused data is equivalent to 5 points). Through this promo, customers redeemed discounts and freebies, as well as donated them to the community partners.
“Our bayanihan spirit is playing a crucial role in helping our fellow Filipinos face our current challenges. And, we want to give our customers the opportunity to further ignite this bayanihan spirit. Which is why with GDay Everyday, we reward our customers and at the same time, empower them to support the wider community through Globe’s 15 partner beneficiaries,” Wong said.
The recipient organizations this year included PGH Medical Foundation, Inc (PGH MFI), Rise Against Hunger, Ayala Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, Hero Foundation, Hineleban Foundation, Save Philippine Seas, Teach for the Philippines, Virtualahan, Moments with Fr. Jerry Orbos, Natasha Goulbourn Foundation (Hopeline), the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Rotary Foundation and Walang Iwanan Alliance.
All this and more are not only part of Globe’s annual 917 celebrations but are also a part of its initiative to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
