15 Black Hawk choppers magdadala ng COVID-19 vaccines sa remote areas
MANILA, Philippines — Gagamitin sa pagde-deliver ng mga COVID-19 vaccines ang mga bibilhing 15 Black Hawk helicopters ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) para mapabilis ang pagbabakuna partikular na sa malalayong lugar.
Ayon kay Defense Spokesman Arsenio Andolong, bukod sa paghahatid ng relief goods ay malaki rin ang maitutulong ng mga Black Hawk choppers sa paghahatid ng relief goods sa panahon ng kalamidad.
“For instance, they can and will be used in airlifting relief goods and first responders during disasters, as well as ferry supplies such as perishable vaccines and medicines to far flung areas that are difficult to reach by land,” pahayag ni Andolong.
“The Black Hawk transport helicopters will evacuate people during emergencies, and can fly critically-ill or injured patients to medical facilities when time is of the essence”, ani Andolong.
Una rito, nagbigay na ng go signal si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana para bumili ng 15 Black Hawk helicopters upang ipalit sa mga lumang Huey choppers ng PAF. Ito’y matapos ang pagbagsak ng isang unit nito sa Bukidnon na ikinasawi ng pitong sundalo ng Philippine Air Force noong Enero.
