Digong aarestuhin ang ICC prosecutor

MANILA, Philippines — Muli na namang kinwestyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kapangyarihan ng International Criminal Court sa pagsasagawa ng preliminary investigation laban sa kaniya.

Dahil dito ay binantaan ni Duterte si ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda na aarestuhin niya kapag itinuloy ang imbestigasyon.

"If we are not members of the treaty, why are you f****** in this country? You cannot exercise any proceedings here without basis. That is illegal and I will arrest you," pahayag ni Duterte sa kaniyang arrival speech sa Davao City.

Nito lamang ay kumalas ang Pilipinas sa ICC, ngunit isang taon pa ito bago maipatupad.

SInabi naman ni Duterte na kahit kailanman ay hindi naging miyebro ang Pilipinas ng ICC.

"There is no basis at all because we were never—the Philippines was not ever, ever a member of that ICC for the reason that there was no publication," patuloy ng pangulo.

"At hindi ako matatakot, I said, you can never call me to the International Criminal Court simply because your position is flawed. It cannot be corrected anymore," dagdag ni Duterte.

Kumalas ang Pilipinas kasunod na rin ng patuloy na pambabatikos sa kanila ng United Nations tungkol sa madugong kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga.
