ROTC reservists aarmasan
“That is very possible. Other countries do it like Switzerland, Israel. They have a small standings armed force backed by a huge Reserve force that continully train with the active force. What we envision in our country is the same. Each Region will have a reserve unit consistent of retired military and ROTC graduates,” sabi ni Lorenzana.
“However we already have resevists all over the country which we are trying to reorganize and re-equip. The bulk of these are aging retirees from the AFP. We have not had any significant infusion of young bloods ever since mandatory ROTC was abolished in 2002,” ani Lorenzana.
“Our concept will need resources for buildings and equipment. But the payback would be great - we will have ready reserves that are on call anytime,” sabi pa ng opisyal.
