17th Thirsty Football Cup gibaha og mga entrante

CEBU, Philippines — Miabot ngadto sa 2,600 ka players nga gikatag sa 222 ka teams gikan sa nagkadaiyang dapit sa Kabisay-an ug Mindanao ang nagpanikad nang mopakita og aksiyon sa 17th Thirsty Football Cup nga gikatakda karong Pebrero 10-12 didto sa Cebu City Sports Center.

"After a hiatus of three years, the biggest football festival in Cebu is back with over 222 teams,” matud pa ni Chad Songalia, nga usa sa mga naghulma sa Thirsty Cup ug kasamtangang board member sa Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA).

“Thirsty has been a big part of football development in Cebu. A good number of players who became national players, playing professionally, playing in collegiate leagues like the UAAP and NCAA have played multiple times in the Thirsty Cup. The event has become a staple in Cebu football," dugang pa ni Songalia.

Si Bunny Pages, ang presidente sa Pages Holdings nga maoy nagduma sa Thirsty Juices and Shakes, subli nga mipadayag sa ilang misyon nga suportaan dili lamang ang football apan hasta sab ang pag-promote og maayong panglawas.

"Our family has always been involved with sports and the Thirsty Cup is one of the premier events that we organize. Big thanks to my son Charlie, who helped organize this event together with Neil Montesclaros, Milky Cañete, Chad Songalia, and a few others. We are happy to not only support football and sports but to help promote good health and exercise," dason pa ni Bunny Pages.

Ang mga out-of-town nga partisipante sa Visayas nagagikan sa Barotac sa Iloilo, Roxas City sa Capiz, Bacolod City, Himamaylan sa Negros Occidental, San Carlos City, Dumaguete sa Negros Oriental, Panglao, Bohol, ug Maasin ug Palapag sa Leyte.

Gikan sa Mindanao, mokumbati ang duha ka teams sa Butuan ug Davao City.

Naglangkob sa mga pambato sa dakbayan sa Sugbo mao ang Don Bosco, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, University of San Carlos, Paref Springdale, ug Abellana National School.

Sa Cebu Province, dunay pipila ka teams nga nagagikan sa Talisay City, Argao, ug Badian.
