'Chao' Sy planong banhawon ang CBL

CEBU, Philippines — Nagplano si Lorenzo 'Chao' Sy nga iyang banhawon ang Cebu Basketball League kon CBL.

Giklaro hinuon sa Sugboanong businessman/sportsman nga si  Sy, kinsa maoy kasamtangang vice chairman sa Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC)  nga ila lamang ilusad og balik ang primerong commecial basketball league sa Sugbo nga nawala sud sa pipila na ka tuig kon ugaling mabalik na sa normal ang tanan.

"There's been no commercial basketball acivity in Cebu for quite some time already and I think it's high time to revive the CBL," matud pa ni Chao Sy nga usa sab ka boxing promoter. "I am making this initiative not only to give our players who have been idled due to lack of tournaments especially during this pandemic a source of income but also to further develop their skills and better prepare them for bigger leagues."

Kabahin sa pagbalik sa CBL, si Chao Sy miingon nga usa kini ka kompetisyon lukop probinsiya ug abli sa mga interesadong LGUs (local government units) ug commercial ballclubs.

Kadto lamang mga basketbolista nga nag-edad og 22-anyos pataas ang tugotan nga makaapil.

Si Chao Sy mitug-an nga duna na'y mga LGUs ang mipadayag sa ilang interes nga mahimong kabahin sa pagbalik sa CBL, apan ilang limitahan ang gidaghanon sa mga entrante gikan sa unom ngadto sa walo ka teams nga moduwa subay sa home-and-away format.          

"We'll just wait and see for now but once everything returns to normalcy, it's definitely a go for CBL's comeback," sumala pa ni Chao Sy.
