Kasaligan ba ang resulta sa mga survey?

Niining panahon sa eleksiyon, daghan kaayo ang mobutho nga mga political surveys. Dili kini nato kalikayan, kabahin na kini sa mga politikanhong exercises sa atong nasud.

Bitaw, kuyaw baya kaayo mao lamang kini ang atong basihan kinsa ang atong botohan Nga kon adunay pagka-bias ang survey nga atong gituhoan, adunay poruhan niini o niana nga kandidato.

Unsa may anaa sa mga survey? Midugang ang mga statistician:  "Surveys reveal facts, beliefs, sentiments, and opinions based on a representation of the population. However, the quality of any inference cannot rise above the quality of the methodology it is based upon... Biased methodologies will only give biased results. Thus, we call on the public to be critical of surveys in this respect. Do not immediately accept survey results as they are."

So, maisip nga biased o dili matinud-anon ang usa ka survey kon kini mosubay sa hustong mga paagi o methodology pagpahigayon sa survey.

Ug ania: “A survey is considered biased when its sample selection or choice of respondents tends to favor a certain segment of the population. Data collection methods can also generate bias, such as when an interviewer purposefully affects the answers of the respondents.” So, importante kaayo giunsa paghimo ang survey. Was it conducted properly?

Ania ang mga pangutana nga angay ipangutana kon ang survey was conducted properly:

1. How were the respondents selected? Giunsa man pagpili ang mga respondents? Importante kaayo ni.

2. Which sectors of the population are being represented in the survey?  Tingali unya og bias na ang maong sector.

3. Is the sample size appropriate based on the target margin of error, level of confidence, and nature of the target population?

4. What events surround the period of data gathering? Dili ba makaapektar sa resulta sa mga survey,nNiining pamahon sa pandemic?

5. Were the respondents interviewed in a neutral yet professional tone? Kinsa man ang nag-survey?  Kinsa ang nag-commission pagpa-survey?

6. What are the control mechanisms were implemented to ensure accuracy of the protocols in data collection? Giunsa man pagseguro nga ma-accurate gayud ang resulta sa survey?

Sa laktud, importante gayud kaayo ang methdology giunsa pag-conduct ang survey, aron maka-kasaligan ug katuhoan.
