Expanded targeted testing

Ang Palasyo, sa niaging semana nagpasidaan nga: “Don’t say ‘mass testing,’ we can’t test everybody.” Ato kining gibatbat pag-usab dinhi pagpahinumdom sa mga hingtungdan tungod kay nagpadayon ang paggamit sa ‘mass testing.’

Atong kutluon: “ The government is carrying out an ‘expanded targeted testing,’ not ‘mass testing.’ Malacañang said Tuesday, as it maintained that it is "physically impossible" to test all Filipinos for the coronavirus,” kini sumala ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

Matud pa, maoy target sa kagamhanan nga maka-testing kita og 1.5-2% sa mga molupyo sa tibuok nasud. Ug kining nagpunay paggamit sa ‘mass testing,’ wala kini magpasabot nga ang tanang molupyo testingan.

Matud ni Roque, dinhi sa atong nasud, kadtong gi-require pag-undergo sa testing naglakip niadtong na-positive na sa coronavirus symptoms, niadtng naka-biyahe gawas sa nasud, mga OFWs nga nanguli nganhi sa atong nasud, ug niadtong naka-close contact sa mga na-positibo na sa virus.

Sa ato pa, dili kitang tanan kinahanglan testingan. Ang husto kunong term mao ang ‘expanded targeted testing.’

Sa mga dapit nga giisip nga epicenters niining kagaw nga mananakod, mahimo nga moabot og 10% sa mga molupyo ang testingan. Ug mao kini ang ilang gihimo didto sa Metro Manila. Ug mao usab kini ang atong gihimo dinhi sa atong dakbayan karon. 

Padayon ni Roque: "That's what we want for Metro Manila. There is no perfect formula, we just need to follow the global benchmark and build capacity to test broadly and swiftly, and this is what we are doing."

Ang pag-testing makahatag sa atong kagamhanan sa kinatibuk-ang hulagway sa extent sa infection sa coronavirus.

Actually, kining kang Roque is just a matter of using terminologies. After all, ang pulong ‘mass testing, wala man kini magpasabot nga ang tanang  molupyo sa usa ka dapit o sa tibuok nasud kinahanglan testingan.

Matud ni Vince Dizon, deputy chief implementer sa national policy on coronavirus disease, nagkadaghan ang mga testing capacities sa atong nasud, gikan sa 8,500 sa Mao 2 ngadto sa 14,500 sa Mayo 10. Apan, matud pa, ang14,500 testing capacity is still less than half of the 30,000 per day target set by the government.

Gipanghimakak usab ni Roque ang giingon nga wala kuno magpasiugda ang atong kagamhanan sa mass testing. Matud ni Roque, “we are conducting a systematic program of targeted testing, because it’s the only way we can identify where the enemy is. Once we identify where the enemy is, then we can isolate and we can cure.”

Samala sa DOH, ang buot magpa-testing, gibahinbahin ngadto sa upat ka sub-groups: “ Sub-group A refers to critical or severe cases; sub-group B pertains to mild but vulnerable cases, Sub-group C pertains to mild and not vulnerable cases, ug ang Sub-group D refers to those who have no symptoms but who have close contact with persons who tested positive or those with history of travel to countries with coronavirus cases.” Ni Roque pa, ang Philippine Health Insurance Corp. maoy mobayad sa mga PCR tests. Samtang ang mga employer maoy mobayad sa rapid test kits voluntarily ngadto sa ilang mga empleyado.

Whatever, ‘mass testing’ o ‘expanded targeted testing.’ ato kining ipadayon.
