CEBU, Philippines — Giaprobahan na sa konseho sa Siyudad sa Sugbo ang ordinansahon nga nag-abolish sa Office of the Register of Deeds kinsa si Konsehal Jocelyn Pesquera ang author niini.

Ang Sangguniang Panlungsod nipatuman sa City Ordinance No. 498 niadtong Oktubre 19, 1964 nga nagmugna sa Office of the Register of Deeds nga nagsilbi nga public depository sa record sa mga dokumento nga nakaapekto sa titulo sa mga yuta sa Dakbayan sa Sugbo.

Base sa maong ordinansa supak sa Akta Republika Numero 1151nga nag-umol sa Land Registration Commission (LRC) ug nagtugyan sa Commissioner sa Land Registration nga direktang kontrolahon ang Register of Deeds (RDs).

Ubos sa Section 2 sa ordinansa ang mga bakanteng posisyon sa Office of the Register of Deeds wagtangon na kini. Gipasabot ni Pesquera nga ang mga regular nga empleyado ubos sa maong buhatan magpadayon gihapon isip regular nga mga empleyado hangtud sa panahon nga sila mo-resign, moretiro, o mobalhin sila ngadto sa laing opisina.

“Currently, the Register of Deeds of the City of Cebu is under the jurisdiction of the Land Registration Authority and the functions of the Office of the Register of Deeds created under Ordinance No. 498 are the mandated functions of the former.
