Pagkubkob og dolomite nakahimo og kadaot sa corals sa Alcoy

CEBU, Philippines — Makig-alayon ang Lungsod sa Alcoy sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) human nasayri atol sa gihimong inspection nga nadaot ang marine ecosystem sa lungsod tungod sa pagkubkob og dolomite.

Si Mayor Michael Sestoso nagkanayon nga wala pa hinuon siya kadawat sa kopya sa report sa Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) nga nagpakita nga nadaot ang corals sulod sa 500 meters nga seawaters sa lungsod tungod sa siltation.

Nasayran sa PENRO nga ang gipino nga dolomite nahulog diha sa dagat sa lungsod dihang gikarga kini ngadto sa barko pinaagi sa conveyor belt ug giingong kini ang hinungdan nga ang corals ug ang seabed naputi na.

“I will have to ask our MENRO (Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office) with regards to the result of the inspection. I don’t have personal knowledge of the reported damage”, matud ni Sestoso.

Matud ni  Sestoso nga kong masuta nga naguba gyud ang mga corals sa lungsod mangayo sila og tabang sa DENR alang sa tukmang aksiyon aron dili na mausab pa ang pagkadaot sa mga corals.

“We will request the help of DENR because they are the ones that has the expertise when it comes to marine ecosystem”, ni Sestoso pa.
