Mother tongue sa K-12 ipa-review ni PJ

CEBU, Philippines — Buot ni Deputy Speaker Pablo John Garcia sa ikatulong distrito sa Lalawigan sa Sugbo nga ma-review ang balaud sa K-12 Program ilabi na ang pagtudlo sa mother-tongue sa basic education sa unang mga tuig sa pagtungha sa mga tinun-an.

Ang Mother Tongue-Based Multi-Lingual Education (MTB-MLE) apil sa kabag-ohan sa basic education curriculum sa K-12 Program diin ang mga tinun-an sa Kindergarten hangtud Grade 3 kinahanglang mogamit sa mother-tongue o common language isip medium of instruction o pagtudlo sa mga subjects.

Si Garcia nagkanayon nga iyang i-review ang maong balaud aron masuta kun aduna bay angay usbon.

"I have asked for the review of the law which the Dep-Ed is making the basis for the mother tongue policy and if necessary we will file a bill to amend the law because it does say there in the law that sa first few first stage of education should be the mother tongue," matud ni Garcia.

"But that same law also says that education should be globally competitive. I don't know how to balance those two purposes, mother tongue and to be competitive," dugang ni Garcia.
