Panglawas ug ekonomiya tutokan ni Labella

CEBU, Philippines — Si Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella mibutyag nga ang siyudad anaa karon sa proseso sa pagumol og mga programang mopalambo sa ekonomiya ug motubag sa critical concerns ubos sa new normal tungod sa pandemiya.

Tutokan sa siyudad ang trabaho ug negosyo; suporta sa edukasyon; ug kahimsog, nutrisyon ug sanitasyon.

"Trabaho, trabaho, trabaho - we will be working on a stimulus package para sa mga gagmayng negosyante. They are the backbone of our economy," sigun ni Labella sa iyang Statte of the City Address kagahapong adlawa.

Gipasabot ni Labella nga ang siyudad magtukod og entrepreneurial mentoring ug up-skilling alang sa mga nawagtangan og trabaho ug paninduton ang siyudad aron makadani oa og dugang mga negosyante aron daghan ang makatrabaho pagbalik.

"As we move forward we bank on important programs that tackle: health programs in the new normal, boosting the economy, grassroots/ barangay programs, digitalization of City Hall services," dugang niya.

Sa edukasyon, makigtigom sila sa mga lokal ug internasyonal nga mga eksperto aron makatabang sa distance learning initiative sa Department of Education (DepEd).

COVID-19 response

Si Labella miingon nga sugod palang bulan sa Enero gisugda na sa siyudad ang pagpangandam sa pandemiya.

“As early as January, I ordered the activation of the Emergency Operations Center at the Mayor’s Office to closely monitor the virus. “It is the biggest facility of its kind in the country with state of the art equipment and features. It has negative pressure ventilation, heap- filters, and state of the art monitoring through CCTV. It is manned by specialist doctors and provisioned with ventilators,” matud pang Labella.
