Tubag ni Cortes sa kaso, di niya buot magamit nga propaganda sa kaatbang

CEBU, Philippines – Reklamante sa plunder case nga gipasaka batok ni Cebu Sixth District Representative Jonas Cortes ngadto sa Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas nagkanayon nga “delaying tactics” ang pagpangayo og extension sa pagtubag sa maong alegasyon.

“Such move by Jonas Cortes is a blatant disrespect to the judicial system and to the people of Mandaue who have been waiting for his explanation,” matud pa sa reklamante nga si Abner Quiño sa iyang mensahe. Ang mga abogado ni Cortes nisumitir og motion to extend ten days ngadto sa Ombudsman alang sa pagsumitir sa iyang counter affidavits. Niangkon si Cortes nga nakadawat siya og order gikan sa Ombudsman nga tubagon ang maong alegasyon kay matud normal lang kini nga procedure isip kabahin sa due process.

“We thought it’s best to ask for an extension of time to file our counter-affidavits since since there was little time to prepare it under the circumstances and I will only get one chance to answer this absurd and trumped up complaint in the Ombudsman,” matud pa ni Cortes  sa iyang mensahe. Matud pa ni Quiño nga padayon ang pag deny ni Cortes nga dili tinuod ang mga pamasangil niini ug andam atubangon ang maong pamasangil sa proper nga forum.

 “Now that he is required to submit a counter-affidavit,  he squirms and manipulates the timing of the filing of his counter-affidavit.  This puts to doubt whether he really has a valid and strong answer to these allegations. This further bolsters the strength of the case, the allegations and supporting documents to point out that indeed, Jonas Cortes committed plinder and he has put the city at a disadvantage and has place his personal and self-interest before that of Mandaue City,” matud pa ni Quiño.

Apan si Cortes miingon nga dili niya gustong magamit sa propaganda sa iyang mga kaatbang ang iyang counter-affidavit ilabi na nga hapit na ang eleksyon. “I understand the frustration of my opponents when they could not get a copy of my counter-affidavits since my lawyers have sought for an extension of time to file them. They were planning to use whatever my counter-allegations for more propaganda and they are running out of time since its 10 days before elections,” matud pa ni Cortes  Mipasangil si Cortes nga ang iyang mga kontra nigahin gyud og daghang kwarta, oras, resources ug mga tawo aron ipahid gyud kaniya ang krimen nga wala mahitabo.

 “I am sad that my opponents are desperately trying to use circumstances, people, processes and institutions to further spread misinformation to the public. This is clearly a last ditch effort to revive an issue that no one actually believes, especially in Mandaue City,” matud pa ni Cortes ug nipasangil nga si Quiño usa ka complainant for hire.  Si Quiño uban sa usa pa ka reklamante nag request og usa ka fact finding investigation adtong usang tuig kabahin pagbaligya sa yuta nga 3.5 hectare nga gipanag-iya sa gobiyerno didto sa Looc, Mandaue City diin gibaligya lang kini og tag P50.00 per square meter  sa dihang mayor pa si Cortes.”All these fact finding investigations were not given due course,” dugang pa ni Cortes.
