Tension gripped the Land Transportation Office (LTO) compound in Quezon City yesterday when after nearly 200 people seeking the release of their driver’s licenses argued with employees of the agency’s Licensing Center Renewal Section (LCRS).

Thousands of people, who said they were promised to receive cash from the supposed trust fund of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, gathered at the University of the Philippines (UP) campus in Los Baños, Laguna yesterday.

University of the Philippines (UP) president Danilo Concepcion has bared plans to establish a medical complex in Quezon City that will feature a medical school, a second Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and a cancer research institute.
