YStyle couture fall 2017 beauty report

Marbbie Tagabucba - The Philippine Star

It’s a wrap

MANILA, Philippines - Azzedine Alaia returns to couture after a six-year-long wait with no less than Naomi Campbell (center) leading models with hair wrapped in plastic turbans calling to mind an African queen. In Chanel (left), it simply kept low buns in place. In Fendi, deep side-part ‘dos were wrapped with electric-hued furry pompoms.

Angel eyes

Strategically placed white eyeliner in Valentino (right) altered the contours of the eyes while in its more understated version in Guo Pei (upper right), just enough was applied to make the eyes look awake. In AF Vandevorst, white pigment covered the entire T-zone.

Wet bias

Crimped and brushed-back hair drew the eye to the arched brows at Proenza Schouler (left) while the slickback with acute hair partings at Jean Paul Gaultier (upper left), like an arrow, pointed to wine lips. The Maison Margiela woman, caught in the act mid-beauty prep, is still utterly glamorous.

Raw refinement

With a big, beautiful dress on, the rebelliousness of a disheveled low ponytail and a seemingly bare face evokes youthfulness, as seen in Christian Dior (upper left); accessorized with décolletage-grazing chandelier earrings at Schiaparelli (upper right); and at Giambattista Valli, pulled together only with a glossy bright red lip.
