The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - An ultra-luxe Hermès timepiece (and matching s/s runway look) for every style personality? Count us in!

Leather Report

Paying homage to the original harness- and saddle-making expertise of Hermès, the Faubourg Manchette Joaillerie is an all leather-clad cuff watch whose smooth alligator strap is assembled using the house’s signature saddle-stitching technique. First launched in 2014, the latest variation features a diamond-set dial and a rose gold case adorned with a gleaming 36-gemstone baguette setting, all individually cut and polished by hand. Not feeling the blues? Onyx, emerald, and rich brown are other available hues.

Paradise Island

With a mother-of-pearl dial serving as the canvas for a miniature handcrafted painting, the Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique is a limited six-piece edition whose motif—a cacophony of flora, fauna, and feathers inspired by Mexican folklore and tapestries from the 15th and 16th century — is culled from an Hermès silk scarf design by Mexico native and graphic designer Laetitia Bianchi. This time around, the scarf print is reborn in the slim watch thanks to the highly skilled hands of an artisan, who outlines and paints the vibrant vision onto the super- smooth watch face with astounding delicacy.

Golden Hour

Considered the most classic of Hermès watches, the Arceau takes inspiration from the elegant characteristics of the French fashion house’s ever-enduring symbol — the horse. With its metallic alligator leather straps, asymmetric attachments that resemble stirrups (another nod to the brand’s equestrian roots), exquisite diamond case setting, and iridescent white mother-of-pearl dial, this studded stunner has us feeling refined and dandy.

Crystal Blooms

Inspired by 19th-century paperweights, the Arceau Millefiori marries the craft of watchmaking with the art of glassmaking via a stunning selection of pattern-rich, crystal-set timetellers. The millefiori, which translates to “a thousand flowers” in Italian, is the main draw of this watch as a vivid flowerbed motif. Painstakingly crafted onto dials and covers by master glassmakers from the prestigious Cristalleries royales de Saint-Louis — the oldest manufacturer of glassmaking in Europe. In this pocket watch style, rouge alligator cord straps and a crystal-embellished front cover reel us in.
