MANILA, Philippines - Our smartphones and their cameras have become essential extensions to our lives. We use them for various things: taking photos of cute dogs, taking notes (looking at you, college students), and most importantly, making memories. At this point in our lives, these memories will most likely be made after the sun has set, cloaked in the comfort of a smartphone’s greatest enemy: low light.
It’s a situation that’s all too familiar: you’re on a night out with your friends, and want to capture a memory. The shutter clicks but you end up having to take more than one because your phone’s camera can’t take the heat of the moment. Pictures usually end up grainy, blurry, or require the unflattering flash; and nothing’s worse than having to fiddle around with your phone for a minute when you’re in the club or taking a nice nighttime stroll with a date. Samsung knows the struggle is real, which is why they’ve come up with the Galaxy J7 Pro, a phone focused on getting those snaps right without having to break the bank.
For starters, the J7 Pro has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture, which means crisp and bright photos, even when it’s dim. The front camera (which is just as important these days, let’s be real) is also a 13-megapixel camera, this time with a f/1.9 aperture. The selfie cam also has an LED flash, so no need to shell out for one of those light-up phone cases.
You ain’t gotta worry about storage, either: the J7 Pro’s got 64GB of memory and a microSD card slot that can handle up to 256GB — no more of those dreaded “storage full” notifications. It’s also got a pretty robust 3600mAh battery, so it should last you up until you do that walk of shame.
The screen is something else as well. It’s a full-HD, Super AMOLED 5.7-inch beauty of a panel, which means deeper blacks and contrast, so no washed-out colors and definitely easier on the eyes. Perfect for viewing those night photos on the morning after with a hangover.
These all sound like features that would be on a high-end device that only your parents can afford, but fear not. The J7 Pro will retail for P15,990, less than half of what the usual flagship phones cost — which means more of that allowance or paycheck can go to making more memories. Win-win, right?
