Leila ‘public enemy no. 1’ - SolGen
MANILA, Philippines - Tinawag kahapon na ‘public enemy no. 1’ ni Solicitor-General Jose Calida si Sen. Leila de Lima.
Sa media briefing sa Malacañang, isa-isang nilitanya ni Calida ang mga hawak na kaso ng OSG kabilang ang ‘test case’ na isinampa ni de Lima laban kay Pangulong Duterte sa Korte Suprema.
“And there’s another interesting case concerning Public Enemy No. 1. And I’m referring to Senator Leila de Lima versus Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the case for the issuance of a writ of habeas data. Again, I cannot yet argue the merits because this is still sub judice,” paliwanag pa ni Calida.
Ipinunto ni Calida na kaya niya tinawag na ‘public enemy no. 1’ si de Lima ay dahil hinayaan nitong mamayagpag ang illegal drugs sa Bilibid sa ilalim ng kanyang pamamahala bilang DOJ chief sa panahon ni dating President Noynoy Aquino sa Bilibid.
“Now isn’t she now the Public Enemy No. 1? She’s now a senator. She is using her power to suppress investigation. She does not want to be investigated. What kind of a public official is that?” dagdag ni Calida.
Naniniwala naman si Solgen Calida na ang petisyon ni de Lima laban kay Pangulong Duterte ay hindi magtatagumpay.
“The President has absolute immunity during his term. He cannot be sued,” wika nito.
