2 drug suspects slain

MANILA, Philippines - Suspected vigilantes shot dead two more drug suspects while 42 others were arrested in stings in Luzon in the past three days. 

Francis Ramos was standing near a flower shop along lower Magsaysay Avenue in Baguio City when unidentified men fired at him after midnight yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Ramir Saculles, Baguio City police chief, said the fatality was on the watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police.

Nympha Santos, 49, a resident of Barangay Patubig in San Rafael, Bulacan, was driving her motorcycle along a barangay road when she was shot.

Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police director, said Santos was on the barangay drug watchlist.

Meanwhile,  Ric Manabat, 50, councilman of Barangay Sto. Tomas in Lubao, Pampanga, and his companion John Fernandez were arrested in a sting at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta, Pampanga police officer-in-charge, said Manabat is a high-value drug suspect in Central Luzon. He said 37 sachets of shabu, P1,000 in cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.

Rosalina Lumaybay, alias Shabu Queen, and 13 others were arrested in raids on nine suspected drug dens in Barangay San Antonio in Los Baños, Laguna yesterday.

In Isabela, 35 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P100,000 were seized from Jennifer Napat, 31, and Rommel de Leon, 20, in a sting in Barangay Mabini in Santiago City on Thursday. ?

Suspected drug pusher Wilbert Kempis, alias Willy, and his alleged cohorts Germaine Reyes, 36; Olivia Reyes, 18; Joselito Felix, 26; Alexander Padera, 30; Heliodoro Miralles, 33, and Philawrence Cosio, 23, were nabbed in Cainta, Rizal also on Thursday.

Six others were arrested in stings in Barangay San Agustin in Pili and Sta. Elena in Nabua and Divina Pastor in Bato, Camarines Sur also on Thursday.

In La Union, 11 drug suspects, were collared during a raid on houses in Barangay Taberna in Bauang town on Wednesday.
