WATCH: Documentary on West Philippine Sea (Episode 1)

MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III released "Kalayaan, Karapatan sa Karagatan," a documentary on the West Philippine Sea and the Philippines' dispute with China, on his social media account on June 12, the Philippine Independence Day.

On Sunday, Malacañang invited Filipinos to watch and spread the film to have a deeper understanding on the maritime row and its effects on small fishermen and ecology.

Aquino also called for a united stand on the issue.

"Muli tayong tinatawag upang magkaisa para sa bayan, para sa dagat at sa mga yamang tubig na ipinamana sa atin," Aquino said.
