VIRAL: What happens when boys are asked to slap a girl

According to United Nations data, between 15 and 76 percent of women are targeted for physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. While most people think that the statistics is far too high to be addressed, this video about anti-domestic violence proves otherwise.
In the video, an unseen interlocutor was interviewing Italian boys, asking for their names and ages. A young girl was then introduced to them and they were asked about their opinions about her. After instructing the boys to make faces and to caress the girl, the interlocutor asked the boys to slap the girl.
And the boys’ reactions just prove that little boys have big hearts. Why? Because as the boy on the video has said, “girls shouldn’t be hit, not even with a flower…not even with bouquet of flowers.”
The video, which has racked up more than 35 million views on Youtube, aims to make a statement on how children react to the subject of violence against women. It was made by an Italian media company Ciaopeople, which runs Fanpage, an online newspaper, and YouMedia, a video service.
