Bianca Gonzales takes lead on being ‘sassooned’

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- It wasn’t a dramatic moment when Bianca Gonzales finally agreed to cut her long black hair to a short bob.

She remembers that day: When “we cut it wala naman siyang dramatic na naka-pony tail tapos gugupitin. It was a gradual cut naman. But when nakikita ko nang nahuhulog ‘yong long hair, tapos nakikita ko na hanggang dito na lang siya sa batok ko, parang nakakanerbyos. More than anything siguro I was thinking na, ‘kaya ko ba ‘to i-pull off? Babagay kaya sa akin?’”

Bianca was the first  to experience the Vidal Sassoon’s pop-up salon, where everyone was given a chance to try a new look—may it be cutting their hair short, make a wavy hair straight, or try some curls at the hair’s tips.

The first public pop-up salon event was held on January 18 at the Bonifacio High Street, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Many were able to experience free transformation even just for a day.

According to the product’s brand manager Pepe Torres, the pop-up salon  gives people the opportunity to "get sassooned and celebrate the New Year with a new look.”

Three months after cutting her hair,  Bianca has yet to regret her decision. She’s also thankful that the stylist who worked on her hair didn’t just cut her hair.

“When they cut kasi my hair, they also study the shape of the face,” she recalls. “‘Yong features mo, ipe-frame ‘yong face mo. Kasi some people ayaw nila magpa-cut ng hair kasi ang laki daw ng face, hindi bagay.

“So tailor made naman ‘yong each cut, so good thing din ‘yong pop-up salon kasi rare opportunity talaga for them to cut it, e.”

She also enjoys her “wash and wear” look as it is “super low maintenance, as in, unlike if you have long hair, kailangan mo muna patuyuin either blow dryer or electric fan.

“When I cut it off, literally wash and wear kahit it's wet. The way it was cut kasi is even if you go out of the house na basa pa ang buhok mo, it will look good as well.”

This was made easier with Vidal Sassoon’s different hair products including heir premier Base Care Shampoo and Conditioner that’s perfect for washing out the dirt and bringing back hair's natural moisture.

They also recommend their Premier Color Care Collection which helps enhance shine of your hair as well as repair the damage caused by coloring the hair.

They also offer  Magic Style Activator, a leave-on treatment which makes it easier  to style  hair.

Though most may think that this campaign only intends  to promote the product, Bianca believes that “the whole movement aims to inspire to get out of your comfort zone, not lang sa hair.”
