New luxury hotel opens doors in Clark

Midori Clark Hotel and Casino is the newest luxury hotel and casino in Central Luzon built inside Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

PAMPANGA, Philippines - Sen. Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, the guest of honor, headed the ribbon cutting rites during the grand opening ceremonies of a new hotel and casino.

Midori Clark Hotel and Casino, a new luxury hotel in Central Luzon, launched its grand opening on May 1, in celebration of Midori Casino's first anniversary.

The hotel is built inside Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, situated five minutes away from Clark International Airport which caters domestic and international flights.

Midori Clark had its soft opening ceremony on July 16, 2016, with only more than 50 rooms, three food beverage outlets and a grand ballroom. The luxury hotel now offers 111 well-appointed and spacious rooms, five food and beverage outlets, swimming pool, spa, center, KTV clubs, full RFID system casino and Mahjong rooms.

"I am happy to be part of your success story, from ground-breaking and now in the grand opening. Thank you to the investors of being part for making Philippine society a better place to live in; for providing employment to my countrymen here in Midori Hotel, congratulations to all of you," Pimentel said.

Midori Clark President Bong Alvaro said that the hotel was first conceptualized in 2006 to elevate the benchmark of tourism in Clark.

"We promised the government that we will be building the first high-end hotel and other amenities inside Clark. This is also to accept the challenge that because people would say there is no reason to stay in Clark, there's nothing to do in Clark," Alvaro said in a press conference.

The hotel is named after Japanese word "midori" which means green, as the hotel eyes to be environment-friendly.

"This is the very start, the conceptualization of Midori coming from the word 'green' because we are in a lush of green here and of course we would also want to be known as an environment-friendly institution," Alvaro said.

Positioned as a premier hotel in the north, the hotel aims to inspire lifestyle pursuits with its outdoor bath tub features, spacious rooms where the lowest category (Superior Room) has 43 square meters floor area, while the grandest (Presidential Suite) is 366 square meters, which perfectly blends with its modern-Zen ambiance nestled in verdant surroundings.

Midori features two independent structures linked with a sky bridge - one building serves as the hotel site while the other serves as the casino.
