PS4 sells over 30 million units

MANILA, Philippines – Sony is winning the next-gen console battle sales wise after announcing that it has already sold 30 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide since it was released in late 2013.

It’s closest competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox One, has yet to announce it’s total sales as of writing but last year it reported shipping 10 million units. Take note, that’s shipped, not sold. So from the looks of it, the PS4 is absolutely dominating the Xbox One when it comes to number of units sold.

PS4 sales could even ramp up in 2016 as Sony ventures more into Virtual Reality with PlayStation VR.

Huawei launches Mate 8 in China

Things are looking up for Chinese company Huawei after partnering with Google for the Nexus 6P - widely regarded as the best Android smartphone today, and it looks to build on that success as it launches a flagship phablet - the Huawei Mate 8.

The 6-inch Mate 8 is powered by a Kirin 950 processor running the latest version of Android - Marshmallow.

Product images show the Huawei Mate 8 has a large camera with the fingerprint sensor situated right under it. A similar positioning to the Nexus 6P.

It’s already available in China and global launch is expected to be in January 2016 at the Consumer Electronics Show or CES.

Oneplus Usb Type-C troubles

OnePlus is now issuing refunds for those who bought its USB Type-C cables who bought it separately with the intention of using it on devices other than the OnePlus 2.

This comes after Google engineer Benson Leung discovered the cable by OnePlus is drawing too much power which could damage other devices because it uses a resistor that’s not the same with standard USB Type-C cables. But it works perfectly fine with a OnePlus 2.

Refunds, available until the end of the year, may be applied on this website: https://oneplus.net/ca_en/support/type-c-refund.

OnePlus said it’s already working on an improved USB Type-C cable using the standard resistor.
