Mae Clydyl L. Avila - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year old boy was arrested as police officers recovered from his possession one small pack of suspected shabu and a knife last Sunday night at Progreso Street Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

The boy was initially sighted as carrying a knife about 11-inches in length during a foot patrol conducted by Carbon Police Station and led by Senior Police Officer 1 Rainer Mahinay.

One police officer approached the boy but after sensing police presence, he immediately ran towards the opposite direction.

After a brief chase, the boy was cornered.

Suspicious of the boy’s behavior, police officers frisked the boy and found one small pack of suspected shabu in the right pocket of his pants.

Police also confiscated the sighted knife from the boy’s possession.

He was immediately taken to the Carbon Police Station and has been detained there since Sunday.

According to Police Officer 3 Venus Tampos of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk Officer of Carbon Police Station, they will be sensitive in disclosing further information since the case involves a minor.

Investigations are still on-going while charges against the 15-year-old are still being determined. —/JBB (FREEMAN)
