Ferragamo feels fashionably sheepish

MANILA, Philippines - The Sheep (or Goat) is one of the most cherished signs in the Chinese Zodiac. People born under the sign of the Sheep are considered clever and kind-hearted, with a particular sensitivity to art and beauty. Salvatore Ferragamo could therefore not miss the opportunity to follow a long-time tradition for the brand and celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Sheep with exclusive accessories such as a new iconic silk foulard, special editions of elegant bags and small leather goods, delicate and precious bijoux, and colorful printed silk ties for men.

Especially designed in six different colors, this year’s silk foulard is part of a creative tradition that has since the Seventies seen animals as a favorite subject. Sheep and goats are meticulously depicted in a joyous and delicate style, made of and surrounded by light, gracious flowers and leaves, as is customary in Ferragamo designs.

Also in the special collection designed for the Lunar Year of the Sheep are two small red calfskin handbags with gold piping, embellished with the House’s famous Vara bow, accompanied by matching wallets and key rings. Two brooches and two pendants in the shape of a sheep, each featuring a set of small pearls or Swarovski crystals, complete the set which includes elegant silk ties printed with four different sheep designs.

Unveiled to coincide with Lunar New Year on Feb. 19, the collection is available in the Philippines at the Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques in Metro Manila.
