This derm loves books that get under your skin
I recently bumped into Dr. Stephen Lacson, a handsome young doctor who specializes in dermatological surgery. Dr. Lacson is currently medical director of House of Obagi (HOO) Center for Dermatology — a position that he has been holding for the past seven years.
Obagi is an iconic American brand known and trusted throughout the world known for perfecting both the art and science of skin-health transformation.
Despite Dr. Lacson’s hectic schedule, he still finds time for his passions: cars and sports. And to my delight, this happily married family fan is also a bookworm.
Here is his favorites list:
1. The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.
“An interesting read that discusses three key factors in the phenomenon of why some products, businesses or trends spread and become hugely successful (tip) while others fade and never make it. Very helpful in a sense that it shows and explains the impact of sociology in business.”
2. The Secret by Rhonda Bryne.
“A very inspiring book, I agree with the general message and try to incorporate it in my everyday life: we are in control of our life and our destiny; if we believe and focus hard enough on what we want and on something positive, we will achieve it.”
3. Guide to Global VIPs by Robert Lim Joseph.
“This is a helpful guide on how to deal with foreigners from different cultures in terms of business relations and proper etiquette. This can be useful especially when dealing with VIPs.”
4. World War Z by Max Brooks.
“An entertaining book on the undead that was recently rendered into a movie starring Brad Pitt. It’s a reality-based approach to how a zombie apocalypse might be on a global scale if an outbreak did occur. I also have his other book, The Zombie Survival Guide.”
5. Pacman by Gary Andrew Poole.
“I also enjoy watching contact sports like boxing and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). This biography shows the life story of a very unique and complex individual, Manny Pacquiao. A behind the scenes look on how he rose from poverty to superstardom and on being a boxer, congressman, celebrity and humanitarian, among other things.”
6. 1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz.
“A great book for everyone who likes to travel and see the world. Gives you ideas to plan your next trip and add places to your bucket list.”
