LAS VEGAS - Regardless of whether he loses to Manny Pacquiao in boxing's richest fight ever at the MGM Grand here Saturday (Sunday in Manila), Floyd Mayweather believes his place among the sports' greatest is secured.

Mayweather, undefeated in 47 bouts, will try to protect his perfect record against Pacquiao, whom he considers his toughest challenge to date.

Toughest, yes. But most impactful? No.

"One fight don't define Floyd Mayweather's legacy," he told reporters in the final press conference at the KA Theatre inside the MGM Grand Wednesday (Thursday in Manila).

Mayweather has held titles at super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight. On Saturday, he'll try to unify his WBC welterweight crown with Pacquiao's WBO diadem.

He even considers himself as the greatest fighter who ever lived. And that won't be because of the Pacquiao fight, regardless of the result.

"I think every fight played a major key for me to get to this level," added Mayweather, who sported a black "TMT" ("The Money Team") cap, and a red and black hoodie with matching jogging pants.

Saturday's showdown will go down as the most-watched fight in boxing history, with millions around the world raring to settle the debate on who is the planet's best pugilist.

Mayweather is confident he's the one.

And nothing can convince him otherwise.
