LAS VEGAS - Manny Pacquiao said he has spent more than $1 million for tickets to his fight with Jessie Vargas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Speaking to the crew of US entertainment outfit TMZ here at Wynn Las Vegas, Pacquiao said he expects to hand out at least 2,000 tickets to family and friends to see him challenge Vargas for the WBO welterweight title.

This comes amid cost-cutting measures done by Pacquiao's team for this particular fight, wherein they limited spending on flights and accommodations for some members of the fighting senator's huge entourage.

The lower spending was reflected last week when the passenger bus carrying some of Pacquiao's entourage to Las Vegas left Los Angeles just a little over half its 54-seat capacity.

A source close to Pacquiao said that those whose hotel accommodation won't be shouldered by the boxer - Pacquiao and the closest members of his team are billeted at the Wynn Las Vegas, while the rest are booked at nearby Treasure Island - chose to skip the trip to Sin City.
