MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top mixed martial arts practitioners take center stage on April 4 as they battle for supremacy in various divisions in the Fearless Fighting Championships – Fearless 9 at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.
Dubbed “Uprising,” the event features three tough title matches with Ryan Diaz, Razi Jabarri and Joel Amurao putting their championship belts on the line against three equally aggressive and talented challengers.
Diaz squares off with Babyjoe Talmanglo in the lightweight (149-lbs) division, Jabarri clashes with Cesar Yarte in the middleweight (169 lbs.) class, while Amurao battles Rodel Orais in the featherweight (129-lbs.) category.
Three other matches will usher in the main clashes in the blockbuster fight card organized by Fearless Promotions, Inc. in cooperation with Makisig Network, Inc.
Held in an octagon arena, mixed martial arts is fast becoming a favorite sport among Filipinos. The techniques utilized in mixed martial arts competition generally fall into two categories: striking techniques (such as kicks, knees and punches) and grappling techniques (such as clinch holds, pinning holds, submission holds, sweeps, takedowns and throws).
